Learnerships and Internships

Unemployment remains one of the country’s greatest challenges, which is why we feel it is more important than ever to work with the unemployed youth in local and rural communities, as well as those people with disabilities, to assist them in developing useful skills that will make them much more attractive to potential employers.

Our Learnerships and Internships are carefully crafted to ensure that the development needs of these young people are aligned with the business needs of our customers. In this way, they are equipped with the skills necessary to become competent and productive employees, who can contribute meaningfully to future economic success.

The clear measure of our success up to this point can be demonstrated by the fact that we have provided workplace experience for more than 12 000 young people, including enabling thousands of people with disabilities.

Outsourced Learnership and Internship Solutions

Our Learnership and Internship team brings to the table vast expertise when it comes to the critical matter of empowering South Africa’s unemployed youth. They have the skills needed to prepare and equip individuals for the workplace, helping them to succeed in the work environment, contributing to their financial independence and boosting the development of the country as a whole.

We understand that for the youth to contribute meaningfully to the country’s economic success, they need to be equipped with the skills necessary to become competent and productive employees, which is why our focus is on aligning the their skills development needs with the business requirements of organisations.

To this end, our goal is to work closely with companies to undertake the initial evaluation of applicants for Learnerships and Internships – both in terms of newcomers to the organisation and internal employees seeking to improve their skills – and their subsequent placement within the business.

We are also able to advise and assists organisations with specific Workplace Accommodation Assessments for people with disabilities. Our focus with these learnership and internship solutions is to empower the previously unemployed, build a competent and capable workforce through occupational-based skills development solutions, and ultimately provide the youth with practical workplace experience that will enhance their future employability.

We have developed a range of learnership and internship programmes designed to offer training leading to the acquisition of National Certificates – from NQF Level 2 through NQF Level 5 – across a range of areas.

Among the key areas of focus are: Information Technology; Contact Centre; Business Analysis; Generic Management; Accounting; Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services (FAIS); Warehousing; Business Administration; New Venture Creation; Marketing & Sales; Education Development and Training (EDTP); Project Management; and Wholesale & Retail Operations.

Furthermore, all our learning programmes are aligned to unit standards and are registered with the relevant Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs).

Youth Employment Projects

As part of our commitment to making South Africa a better place and changing lives through skills development, we offer unemployed young people an opportunity to obtain skills that will be useful to them in a future workplace, while at the same time earning a monthly stipend. For those who are unemployed and those who are still unsure about what they want to do in the future, these projects open their eyes to new opportunities and assist them with planning for their future.

We assist the youth to acquire a certificate in specific technical or business-related skills, while at the same time affording them the opportunity to develop their communication skills in a business environment and to grow their confidence and to move forward with their own dreams and plans.

Furthermore, these projects assist in the development of various work-related skills, such as how to manage time effectively and what is considered acceptable behaviour in the workplace, such as the appropriate type of language and dress code. It also provides the youth with personal knowledge like how best to manage their finances. Far more than simply providing them with knowledge related to software or hardware, these Youth Employment Projects are about helping them to discover their personal strengths and motivations.
